This wonderful little old style barbers has been going for 25 years (they had a big street party this year to celebrate) and you can see why. I was very excited when I moved to Redland to find that this was my local laundrette. I recognised it from the 80s sitcom The Young Ones. Or at least I thought I did, because this isn't said Staffords. It's a different one. Thanks to my wonderful husband, I've only used it a couple of times but it's a pretty straightforward laundrette, cheap and easy to use. With the sheer amount of pubs and bars around Redland and Cotham, it's no wonder cafes do well on a Sunday. And of all the places to rack up a hangover meal, the Deco Lounge has to be the best. I don't eat meat but their poached eggs are divine (apparently they have some ingredient in them which helps cure hangovers), the coffee is enough to wake even the most avid Koala and the chilled, laid back surroundings complement it all perfectly. This place is attached to the Post Office which on the surface is a little odd. It is a decent old style pharmacy, selling those items you can no longer get in Boots or Superdrug, think discontinued perfumes and make up lines as well as obscure cough sweets and bunion protectors. Oxfam on Cotham Hill has an ever changing range of good quality clothes and bric-a-brac. You will often find more obscure items in there - a branded decanter, an old typewriter or a rare version of Monopoly. This bookshop is a brilliant little find, stone throw from Gloucester road, Its not a well known as some of the other local book shops but this is a favourite of mine. The atmosphere is friendly and warm, and you could easily find youâ¬"ve spent a hour or so without realising. The John James Foundation is a fantastic organisation, that works alongside many charities in the local area and further afield. The foundations basis is such a good cause and has been established for many years. This Indian restaurant is lovely and the quality is great Its in a great location and most people I know certainly do rate the venue. This restaurant is lovely and the quality is great I went there in the last 6 months with a group of friends and we all enjoyed it and thought the food, was fresh and tasty.
